This koala bank has a joey! It is also a bobblehead bank.
As a weekly visitor to the San Diego Zoo I enjoy watching the joeys come out of their pouch. The baby koala is born in 35 days. It is the size of a jelly bean and crawls into the pouch and attaches itself to one of the two teats. The Zoo has to monitor very carefully - otherwise this journey may not be noticed. After a few months a joey's paw will be seen. Later a head becomes visible. Eventually the joey will leave the pouch and then return to it. There may be a jelly bean size joey and a year old joey in the pouch at the same time.
Since the joey for this koala bobblehead bank is outside of the pouch, it must be about one year old. Cute isn't it? We do know that koalas ar not bears even though we show them on the bear page.
The big eyes protrude and are made of 4 circles - plue, white, black and a tiny white dot in the center. Koala color is a good match to the ones at the zoo.
Personalzation will be across the belly.
