Erica – our artist
Nov 6th, 2009

One of our artists, Erica, is having her knee operated on Friday, November 6. She has taken a lot of piggy banks home with her – so we will have new artist originals on the site by November 18th. If you want to order one of her banks that are on the site and not currently in stock, you can order it now. We will let her know so that your bank can be shipped by Nov 18th. We wish her a healthy recovery and a knee that doesn’t hurt! She hopes to get lots of orders while she is at home!

Celebrating with Baseball Piggy Banks
Oct 1st, 2009

After a quick start by the Chinese team, our Chula Vista kids dug deep and never gave up. Slowly, they began to chip away at the lead, and kept their heads high. Never was there a sense that they felt defeated. They supported each other from the first pitch to the last. No big contracts on the line, just pride and joy at the ability to play together as a team, and show the world how that strength pays off – each of those boys is now a world champion.

The city of Chula Vista has a right to be proud.  Imagine turning on the television and seeing the smiling faces of your child’s classmates in their full baseball attire, getting ready for the game of their lives.  This is baseball at its finest – kids playing for the love of it, parents cheering for both teams, and coaches unable to wipe the smile off their faces.  The Chula Vista little league baseball team became our 2009 Little League World Series Champions.

There has been an outpouring of support for our boys.  They received a heroes’ welcome with their very own homecoming celebration.  The staff here at Banks Banks Banks kept their eyes glued on the TV watching our local kids compete on a national level.  Ever since the Little League World Series has started, we’ve all grown especially fond of our baseball piggy banks.  We think it’s great when we get an order for our sports piggy banks that we have to personalize.  A personalized piggy bank is a great way to help celebrate any sport enthusiast’s victory or special occasion.  We have the largest selection of piggy banks fit for any occasion you can think of.  Once again, congratulations to our very own Little League World Series champions!

There are many ways to get your message across. One zoo used animal banks! According to your timeline we can be fairly creative with large quantities. We also discount large orders. Talk to us.

Corporate Banks

Humane Society – Animal Rescue Group
Oct 1st, 2009

We sell banks to many different animal groups. Some create a “necklace” which they put around the neck of the cat or dog with their name on it. Some attach their logo decal. We also created an Artist Original piggy bank that says “Please Feed Me” with paw prints on it. The most successful idea has been the stuffed animal banks. The cat “meows” and the dog “barks” when coins are inserted. The feedback has been that the same location with the stuffed animal brings in more money. The thought being that kids like to hear the sound the bank makes when coins are inserted – so more money is inserted! There are so many ideas. Most of these organizations had been using glass jars or a “tired” bank. From our feedback the donations increase fairly dramatically when the new banks became the collection jars.

Dog Bank

Rotary
Oct 1st, 2009

Since I am a Rotarian, I was pleased when an incoming president of a California Rotary Club gave a piggy bank to every member. Rotary presidents change the first of July. The new president had every member take the bank home with them. Some members put it on their bedroom dresser. Some members put it on the counter in their business. Every 3 months the members brought their piggy bank back to the meeting and emptied it’s contents, then took it back with them. The money raised in the piggy banks is to fund a specific project in their community. Last I heard thousands of dollars had been collected using the pigs. And, the members all loved the idea. Another Rotary president who is a realtor used the Victorian House Bank on our site.

New Baby – office gift
Oct 1st, 2009

We have several businesses that purchase baby banks. They use the bank to collect donations for a week. The money goes to the employee who is about to have a baby. Employee can be the father-to-be or the mother-to-do. The most I’ve heard raised using the baby bank was $1,200! (Yes, with one bank in one week. I want to work in that office.) There are churches that also give out banks to every newborn. We have customers who are stockbrokers or investment advisors who always give a bank to a client’s newborn. One knows that having a child is expensive. Using a piggy bank let’s a group say they care. We can personalize the bank with “Baby Jones” so anyone seeing the bank knows who the money is for.

Centerpiece at luncheon
Oct 1st, 2009

The United Way of Houston is one group that used piggy banks as part of the centerpiece of the table. They had a luncheon and asked everyone to put all of their change into the piggy bank on their table. Then, they sold the pigs for $5 more than they paid! Their profit was over $2,000 with the pigs!

“Break the Bank” – great Fundraiser idea
Oct 1st, 2009

A casino that Katrina destroyed had a wonderful marketing idea. They created a quarterly program called “Break the Bank.” They bought 12 different colors of plain piggy banks, and they bought each color in 3 different sizes. That means there were 36 banks. (12 banks of each size and 3 banks of each color.) They put $10,000 inside the banks. Some banks had $1. One bank had $5,000. Each bank had some amount of money in it. Once the banks had money they put each one inside a Plexiglas cube and stacked the cubes. It created a see-through wall of banks which they placed near the entrance to the casino. Big Sign “Break the Bank.” I’m not sure how they got their winners, but winner #1 chose a bank – any color, any size. Winner #2 then chose a bank. You get the picture. It was the most popular event they had ever created – which is why they made it a quarterly event. This would work for any fund raiser. Sell raffle tickets and break the bank! Other casinos also “break the bank” altering the original idea in different ways.

Teaching children value of money
Oct 1st, 2009

In order to educate children to save, piggy banks have taken on all sorts of shapes and sizes. Many people today choose one that is part of the child’s bedroom decor. Or, it may be the favorite animal of the child. We even have educational banks that teaches children how to save. Saving coins IS the first step of investing. We personalize the banks in order to make them even more special. What a wonderful way to give money to a child. Give them a bank with the money inside! One of the top two reasons for divorce is supposedly the inability to manage money by at least one of the couple. What better gift can you give a child than to teach them how to manage their money – even if it’s just a dollar.
