The dog represented here is the Dachshund, a short-legged elongated member of the hound family. The breed's name is German and literally means "badger dog," in that they were developed to chase badgers and other burrow-dwelling animals. Due to the long narrow build, they are sometimes referred to as a wiener dog, hot dog, or sausage dog. Dachshunds have a wide range of colouration, though the dominant colors and patterns are red and black-and-red, sometimes referred to as black-and-tan. This bank is just so cute. Look at that face!
