Yes, this bank IS a bank. The word BANK is written on the open door. However, it might be as much of a toy as a bank.
When you open the door you are greeted by a gentlemen with a derby style hat and a nice suit. (Enlarge the photo to better see him in the top photo.) He has a mustache and a slight goatee. He is carrying a red tray for you to put your coin upon and when the door closes he turns quickly and your coin is now safely tucked away inside the bank. How fun!
As you can see from the photos the roof and base of the bank are red as well as the trim around the windows. Not seen in photos is the front door which has red trim around the top of the door in black lettering it says "Novelty" over the door and below says "Bank." There are 2 yellow chimneys that add extra charm to this bank. The windows surrounding the bank allow you to view the inside of the bank from all sides.
This little corner bank is a great collector's item. It has been handcrafted as a reproduction of a bank from a century ago. Made of iron. Dimensions 4.25 x 4.25 x 6.5
