Fire Island is off the south shore of Long Island NY. It has a year round population of 491 and a summer population in the hundreds of thousands. I was on the island once to visit an elderly aunt that had had a house there forever. Today, it is a welcoming summer place for gays.  Like P-Town. 

Fire Island allows no cars from Memorial Day thruough Labor Day. Thus, the red wagon. It is a necessity. Fire Island is referenced frequently on 30 Rock and Will and Grace. It's a great place to visiti!
